Wedding ceremony and celebration at Benesov nad Ploucnici from €1,412,
It does not often happen that one town, literally two steps away from each other, has two castles, such as Benešov nad Pločnica. Castles in the style of late Gothic and the “Saxon” Renaissance, atypical for the Czech Republic, were built by the Salhausens. The ancient settlement of merchants and artisans of the 13th century at the city of Ostroy turned into an ideal place to stay on the way to Bohemian Switzerland (Dechin region).
After the White Mountain battle, the estate was divided between two owners for some time. First, the Tuns, who owned the large estate and the Upper Castle. While the forests and the Lower Castle belonged to the Klar-Aldringens. In 1945, all objects were nationalized. In 1956, they proclaimed a state castle of the 1st category. In 1969, the Lower Castle suffered severe damage from a fire, but a few years later, it was reopened to the public.
